Training and Events

ICAN believes everyone should have access to clear, empowering information about climate change. We offer free climate training for our community, creating spaces to learn, discuss and take action together.

Our interactive sessions help to build understanding, spark conversation, and support people to make informed choices for a more sustainable future.  We also host a range of events including sustainable craft workshops and themed talks with guest speakers on climate-related issues.

Whether you’re just starting your climate journey or looking to deepen your knowledge, our training is open to all and free to attend!

Carbon Literacy Training equips both individuals and organisations with the knowledge and confidence they need to take practical action on climate change.

Participants learn about the causes and impacts of carbon emissions, how to reduce their carbon footprints, and more.

The training leads to the globally recognised Carbon Literacy certification and empowers people to make informed, lasting changes in their everyday lives.

Climate Fresk is a fun, collaborative workshop that helps people understand the science behind climate change in just a few hours.

Using sets of cards based on the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)’s research, participants work together to map out the causes and impacts of climate change and explore solutions.

It’s engaging, accessible for all levels of knowledge, and designed to spark meaningful conversations and action within communities.

Our Climate Awareness Sessions offer a friendly, accessible introduction to climate change and what it might mean for Inverclyde and for Scotland.

These are short information sessions sharing practical tips on how you can save energy, money, and reduce carbon emissions in your home. These sessions can be customised to the needs of the audience and are often delivered in collaboration with The Trust's Wattwise project. Each session will have an opportunity to ask questions and get individual support.
